Former Eagles QB Donovan McNabb traded to Redskins

In a trade to his division rival, the Philadephia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb trades his colors to move south to throw for the Washington Redskins.

Last night around , the trade was confirmed to the Skins for a couple of draft picks.

McNabb has led the Eagles to five NFC Championship Games and one Super Bowl in 11 seasons in Philadelphia.

It might have been his failure in not winning the big game.

The Eagles have not won an NFL championship since 1960. And with the emergence of Kevin Kolb, McNabb’s days in Philly were numbered as the franchise needed to make moves to improve that record.

McNabb,  a six-time Pro Bowl quarterback, threw for 3,553 yards and 22 touchdowns with 10 interceptions in the 14games the Eagles played last season.

Will McNabb be missed in Philly? Most likely as he has led the team and has been an outstanding figure for almost a dozen years.  But Kolb and Michael Vick are both good QBs to keep Philly moving the sticks.

With McNabb in Washington, it seems like current Redskins QB Jason Campbell might be on his way out. Those rumors have not yet been confirmed but it only seems inevitable.

Contract extensions are in talks right now with the ‘Skins and McNabb’s agent.
